PMOAC Bay Side Festival 2025

Last month, the Port MacDonnell Offshore Angling Club (PMOAC) participated in the Bay Side Festival. With the sun shining and warm weather drawing large crowds, the Port MacDonnell community enjoyed a vibrant day filled with entertainment. The foreshore was lined with various stalls, ensuring fun for all ages.

PMOAC set up a stall featuring our newly purchased fishing simulator. This interactive setup included a game chair where participants could sit and angle for fish, with a lifelike display on a television screen showing their catch. Using a rod and reel connected to a simulation box, anglers experienced a highly realistic fishing challenge. Many kids eagerly put their skills to the test, reeling in virtual fish such as marlin, dolphin fish, tuna, and more. It was a fantastic way to introduce children who had never fished before to the sport and our fishing community. From their excitement, it was clear this was a festival highlight.
The PMOAC stall also showcased club merchandise, attracting plenty of interest. Additionally, Sparksey’s Tackle displayed fishing rigs and wind-on leaders, sparking conversations with committee members and general public about different fishing techniques and the best rigs to use. The event was a great success, bringing the community together to celebrate fishing and outdoor recreation.
